About The Author
Annalize Keyser has spent 25 years in private healthcare and 24 years married to a paramedic—a role that deserves its own qualification. She’s mastered the art of eating dinner at midnight, sleeping through emergency sirens, and understanding that “I’ll be home soon” could mean anything from 10 minutes to 10 hours.
While her husband saves lives in ambulances, Annalize has perfected saving leftovers, family plans, and the last cup of coffee before the next call-out. She knows more about trauma bags, shift work, and radio chatter than she ever planned to, and has accepted that holidays and weekends are merely suggestions in the EMS world.
With patience, humour, and enough resilience to rival any emergency responder, she proves that behind every dedicated paramedic is an equally dedicated spouse keeping life running smoothly. After 24 years, she’s earned the unofficial title of Chief Executive Officer of the Home Front, with extensive experience in interrupted sleep, cancelled plans, and loving someone whose office has flashing lights and a siren.
Her greatest achievement? Still answering the phone with, “Is everything okay?” and laughing about it afterwards.
